NID-01V / NID-02V - Environmentally Hardened VDSL2 / ADSL2+ Universal POTS Splitter
The NID-01V is a Universal POTS splitter designed to enable POTS service to coexist with ADSL2+ and VDSL2 data signals up to 30MHz.
As networks speed up, carriers need alternative, high-bandwidth CPE solutions that take them to their preferred demarcation point. Contest’s entire family of VDSL CPE splitters supports VDSL2 while remaining backwards-compatible with existing ADSL, ADSL2+ technologies.
NID-01V is a low loading splitter designed for VDLS2, and is backwards compatible with ADSL2+ and ADSL. Comtest splitters prevent interference between POTS and VDSL2 signals, ensuring high-quality delivery of voice and enhanced data service such as video. The innovative design addresses specific issues that affect video quality such as ring-trip.
NID Splitter is hermitically sealed using gel filled connectors and silicone potting protect the circuitry from the elements. Connection to the DSL modem and telephone equipment is straight forward. Gel-filled Insulation Displacement Connectors (IDCs) ensure quick and reliable connections and do not require any tools.
Features unique to the NID include the addition of secondary surge protection and compatibility with HPNA v3.1 home networking.
Adapter plates and other mounting options are available for installation in industry standard Networks Interface Device Enclosures, making it easy to upgrade current CPEs to interoperate with the newer VDSL2 standards.
